Training is open & free of charge to all active military, military veterans and their family members. What to Expect Certifying military veterans to become qualified youth baseball and/or softball officials. Certification is free. PTG will provide a starter kit of baseball/softball officiating equipment. PTG will connect certified officials with local umpire assignors for immediate earnings opportunity. After training, officials will actually work games alongside a seasoned umpire. New & Gently used officiating equipment and a uniform will be provided, along with a Protect The Game patch that PTG Graduates receive upon completing the Protect The Game training.
